NLCC JRK Millen accepts registration at certain times throughout the training year. To be eligible for membership as a Navy League Cadet, any child that is between 9 and 11, and a Canadian Citizen or landed immigrant, is eligible to participate. The Navy League of Canada is committed to providing a learning and working environment for all persons that is free from harassment. Allowances are made to respect cultural dress, and youth with disabilities are considered on a case by case basis.
To make our programming possible, all cadets will be expected to participate in fundraising activities. Fundraising helps develop responsibility, community spirit and work ethic. It also ensures that every child can participate in all aspects of the Program, regardless of their family’s financial situation.
Cadet training occurs in a structured environment that promotes the development of self-discipline, respect for others, organization, leadership and teamwork. These skills will help your child become successful in their life endeavours.
To register you will need to complete the APPLICATION and MEDICAL QUESTIONNAIRE and submit two photocopied pieces of Identification for your child (Birth Certificate, P.R. Card or Passport AND Manitoba Health Card) to the cadet corps of your choice. We also ask that you notify us of any medical conditions your child has, and any special custody arrangements that may be in place.
Accompany your child to the first night. You will both have an orientation and sign in. Your child will take the Navy League Cadet Promise and after a few training nights, will be issued a uniform. They can then start earning badges and qualifications.
Registration is $100.00 per year for each child and for each additional child from the same household the fee will be $80.00 for the year. The uniform is FREE but must be kept in good condition and pants hemmed as it is to be returned at the end of the season.
